Many people think of WonderLab as a key community educational asset, much like our schools and libraries. However, as a private non-profit organization, WonderLab’s operations are not funded by an annual appropriation of tax dollars. Rather, WonderLab must meet the annual operating expenses of providing outstanding exhibits and programs from a combination of earned revenues and donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and others. WonderLab was awarded $20,828 in 2008 Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits in early July, and these have been completely distributed to donors. Please contact Heidi Frankson, development director, if you would like to be notified about future NAP tax credit opportunities.
NAP tax credits, valued at 50% of the value of the contribution made to WonderLab, are highly beneficial to you! For example, if you make a $500 donation to WonderLab, you will receive a $250 tax credit on your 2008 Indiana state taxes, and you'll be able to claim a federal tax deduction on your donation as well.

We invite community businesses, organizations and individuals to help support WonderLab's mission by sponsoring exhibits, preschool enrichment programs, public evening hours, family science programs, professional development opportunities for teachers, annual special events and more. CONNECTING TO THE
COMMUNITY FUND
This program provides free group admission for 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies that primarily serve low-income children and their families, as well as camp and program scholarships. The fund is supported by grants and donations to the museum that are specified for this purpose. Donations may be designated for use by a particular agency. If you wish to donate to this fund, please designate the amount on the Annual Fund Donation Form.

You can help ensure that WonderLab remains a treasured community asset into the future with a planned gift. A planned gift can offer considerable tax advantages to you as you manage your financial affairs for the years ahead and at the same time express your commitment to future generations of young scientists. Such gifts can take many forms, including bequests, life insurance, charitable trusts and more. We are happy to work with you and your tax advisor to set up a planned gift.
