National Ham Radio Kids Day and Build Your Own Radio Workshop

WonderLab is proud to be the local host site for this special event, which only happens twice a year! Earn a certificate by using short-wave radio technology to talk with kids across the country! Other activities include making a QSL card to mail to the station you contacted, sending a “secret code” message via Morse Code, and learning about how volunteer weather spotters collect data and report severe weather through the Skywarn system.
Build Your Own Radio Workshop
Time: 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Members: $7 per kit
Nonmembers: $10 per kit, plus museum admission
For those who want a more in-depth exploration of radio technology, learn about the physics of radio waves that power wireless gadgets as you assemble a working FM radio from a kit. Space is limited. To register in advance, call 812-337-1337 ext. 11.
