College Volunteers
Hundreds of college students volunteer each year at WonderLab. They comprise close to half of WonderLab’s Volunteer Team. College students come from many different schools and degree programs. They are involved in the exhibit galleries, in special projects, and in ongoing tasks behind the scenes. WonderLab offers flexible volunteer hours around class and work schedules.
WonderLab provides college students with an opportunity to apply classroom learning and get involved in the Bloomington community. College students serve as role models to teen volunteers and younger children. They simultaneously receive mentoring from WonderLab staff and adult volunteers. Some college students consider the museum their “home away from home.”
WonderLab also offers paid internships (work-study or stipend) and unpaid internships, for which the student might be able to arrange college credits. Learn more.
Training sessions for new volunteers are held at WonderLab. Prior registration is required.
