Science Field Trips for School Groups

WonderLab offers science field trips that inspire curiosity and creativity for students of all ages. Whether you’re planning an elementary field trip, a middle school visit, or a full-grade class field trip, your students will experience hands-on science exhibits that make learning fun.

Our engaging activities align with Indiana Academic Standards in Science, making WonderLab one of the best destinations for elementary school field trips in the region.

The basic Field Trip is a self-directed exploration of the exhibit galleries facilitated by museum staff and volunteers. Lunchroom facilities are free but only available by reservation.

What counts as a Field Trip?

  • A Field Trip is defined as a minimum of ten paid individuals with one free adult chaperone.

  • Reservations must be confirmed at least two weeks prior to the visit.

  • Field Trips may be scheduled with an arrival time as early as 9:00am.

School Field Trip Pro Tips

  • We recommend approximately 90 minutes for elementary school field trips and other group visits to explore the museum.

  • If you want to add demonstrations, science labs or lunch you should plan to add additional time.

  • Plan to visit the Gift Store.

  • Your visit coordinator will provide you with an itinerary based on the activities selected.

WonderLab is located in Bloomington, Indiana, and welcomes school field trips from across the state. We’re a favorite destination for schools in Indianapolis, Columbus, Bedford, and surrounding areas looking for hands-on science field trips.
