Water is important, and we know that we need to drink plenty to be healthy, but why? Why do coastal towns have mild, or temperate, temperatures? How do fish survive in freezing lakes in the winter? This can all be answered by using chemistry, earth science and biology to study the unique properties of water. Materials are not necessary but, you are invited to bring a full glass of water and lots of water safe, small things that can be dropped into it, like beads or paper clips, for our experiment. This program supports Indiana Academic State standards for Life Sciences grades 1-6.
