Corals build skeletons using a lot of chemistry. Joins us as we dive into what it takes for corals to grow and how ocean acidification dissolves all their hard work. Materials are not necessary but if you would like to participate in the activity, you will want to bring with you the cleaned shell of one egg, a glass of water, a couple tablespoons of vinegar in a glass, a couple tablespoons of milk in a glass, and a large plate or tray or 3 small plates. This program supports Indiana Academic State standards for life sciences for grades 1-5.
