Relive the excitement of a book fair with WonderLab and Morgenstern’s Books! Peruse titles specially selected for adults in our WonderLab community. Bask in the nostalgia of picking out a new read with friends and other bibliophiles. Enjoy adult beverages from Upland Brewing Company. Light snacks will be provided.

Activities:

  • 6:30 p.m. – Meet the author Mary Murphy, a Bloomington local who will discuss and do a live reading of her new work, “Cultures of Growth: How the New Science of Mindset Can Transform Individuals, Teams, and Organizations”.
  • 7:30 p.m. – Learn about how ink was made in Medieval Times and work with the medium. Test your calligraphy skills with artist and scientist, Elizabeth Hebbard.
  • 8:15 p.m. – Explore the art and science of paper making with local artist and expert, Mary Uthuppuru.

Featured Speakers:

Along with our three local speakers, explore the museum and engage in different activities inspired by the book fair:

  • Learn the process of saddle stitch bookbinding to make a blank zine you can design while you are in the museum or to save for later.
  • Create bookmarks using recycled plastic grocery bags.
