Ocean currents are vital to the movement of animals and nutrients. Without them the deep ocean would not have enough food and sea turtles might not be able to travel as well, but as the Earth warms up, this could change. Join us in Dive Deeper as we talk about how currents work and what scientists think might happen if they stop. Materials are not necessary but if you would like to participate in the activity you will want to bring with you water, a flat pan, 2 colors of food coloring, and a small sandwich bag of ice or ice pack. This program supports Indiana Academic State standards for Life Science and Earth and Space Science for grades 1-6.
