Yes, but empty helium canisters cannot be left at or thrown away by WonderLab. Helium is a precious and nonrenewable resource, so we encourage you to find alternatives to purchasing a helium tank. If you do choose to bring a helium tank to inflate balloons, it is your responsibility to operate it safely, bring the tank home with you, and know how to responsibly reuse or recycle it. Compressed gas can be dangerous when handled improperly and helium tanks are not allowed to be disposed of in the party room trash cans.
No. We do not have anywhere safe enough to hang/hit a piñata.
Yes, you can bring your own food and drinks, but they must stay in the party room.
When you book a double, 40 people is the maximum number of guests that will comfortably fit into our 2 lab rooms. Infants (children under 1) do not count towards this total. If you would like to bring more than 40 guests, each additional guest will need to pay the full price of museum admission, regardless of membership status. We may be able to accommodate a larger party with all three of our lab rooms, depending on the date and time of your party.
Yes! Bring any decorations you would like for your DIY party. Our themed parties come with decorations, but you can bring more to add to the party room.
Yes, you may light candles in the party room, just remember to blow them out!
Yes, the entire WonderLab museum can be rented after hours. You would book an evening rental and then let us know the occasion!
Yes! You can enhance your science field trip with optional add-ons such as private science demonstrations, hands-on lab sessions, or a reserved lunch area. These activities make your elementary field trip even more engaging.
Yes. Schools where 75% or more of students qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program may apply for our Connecting to the Community Fund to receive free or reduced admission for school field trips.
We recommend booking your school field trip at least two weeks in advance to ensure your preferred date and to allow us to create an itinerary tailored to your class.
Most class field trips last about 90 minutes for exhibit exploration. If you add a science lab, demonstration, or lunch break, plan for extra time to give your students the full WonderLab experience.
Great question! The activities chosen for your party theme will primarily depend on the ages of your party guests. We are always developing new science activities and improving upon our old ones. What we can promise is that our activities will be relevant to your chosen theme, educational, and tons of fun! If you have concerns or special requests regarding activities, please reach out to the birthday party specialist.
They will include 2 age appropriate toys, rainbow glasses, a rainbow pencil, and a WonderPass. WonderPasses are a one-time pass for free museum admission!
WonderLab combines hands-on science exhibits with interactive activities that align with Indiana Academic Standards in Science. Our exhibits make learning fun and memorable for students, making us one of the top destinations for elementary school field trips in Indiana.
