Energize! After School is an exciting afternoon program focusing on hands-on learning about healthy living. The program is offered at the WonderLab Museum of Science, Health, and Technology through their partnership with the YMCA.

Energize! After School is held at the WonderLab every Tuesday from 4:30pm-5:15pm. until December 19th.  Each class is free with museum admission and includes a free healthy snack, fitness activities, and WonderLab approved science experiments.  The class is recommended for kids ages 6-12.

WonderLab’s Education Director, Emmy Brockman, is very excited about the program because of they way it brings together science and healthy living. She says, “It’s not just telling you to be healthy and get exercise. It’s exploring the science behind why these things are so important to our bodies, to our minds, to our health and to our everyday life.”

A few of the activities available at Energize! After School include building an articulated hand, dissecting fruit, exploring grain under a microscope, and testing your own heart health.

While the activities do build on each other week to week, students may join at anytime. Energize! After School is ticketed but free with admission to the museum. This is not a drop off class; parents are required to remain in the museum, and are invited to participate in the class if they choose.
