WonderLab is bringing a Winter Wonderland to life this December 16th and 17th. Meet animals from a winter wonderland who have special adaptations allowing them survive in freezing temperatures, from insects, reptiles, and frogs to real, live reindeer. Guests will also learn about the Sami people, traditional reindeer herders from the icy north.

“This is an opportunity to meet and touch a creature that you don’t often get to encounter and also learn about it from an expert,” said Emmy Brockman, Education Director at WonderLab. “It integrates a lot of the elements we really care about at WonderLab, which is hands-on learning and education from experts.”

Audience members should expect to meet reptiles, mammals, a bird, a frog, and insects. On Saturday guests will also meet an adult reindeer, and on Sunday they will meet a baby reindeer – children will be allowed to pet the reindeer. Animals will be brought by Amazon John from Silly Safaris, an organization that has become a leader in animal conservation education.

Showtimes are at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 16, and 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM on Sunday, December 17. Tickets can be purchased at WonderLab on the day of the show and are $4 for WonderLab members and $5 for non-members. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis and each show has an 80-person audience capacity.
This is a high demand event,” says Jennifer Jenkins, Visitor Services manager at WonderLab. “So get here early for your best chance to score tickets.”
