Robots are taking over WonderLab. On Saturday, December 8, get ready to meet the machines! WonderLab, in partnership with R-House Living Lab at Indiana University has an army of robots for you to discover. Dive into coding and discover how to make machines do your bidding. Meet actual robots from around the world programmed to play different parts in our daily lives.

“There are a lot of improvements that tech and robotics have helped us with,” said Sarah Lynn Wells, WonderLab’s adult and secondary education specialist. “From computer simulations to creation of precise components for aircraft or automobiles, advancements in technology have made construction and innovation easier.”

Tackle the basics of automaton construction by building your very own simple robot, then design your own mechanized creations to assist in your daily routine, from classroom aides to chore-bots.

“This might not be the first thing you think of when you think engineering, but engineering takes a lot of imagination and I think robotics is a good example of that,” said Wells. “The Robot Take Over event is just as much about creativity as it is about science.”

Robot Take Over will take over WonderLab on Saturday, December 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All activities free with museum admission.
